A new update from Banca d'Italia SL has been posted on their website.
We have briefly translated their statement, to update non italian customers.
They affirm that:
Linden Lab arbitrarely charged the main Banca d'Italia SL avatar, because of some fraudlent transactions
between Banca d'Italia and one of its customer. Linden Lab refuse to respond to tickets open by Banca d'Italia team.
Quite a few fraud attempts were made during this period. Banca d'Italia SL software was not
a professional one, as it was always intended for game purposes, so it was impossible to stop
all fraud attempts.
Some investments have been bad. That's normal. That has lowered the short term liquidity of the avatar holding Lindens for ATM activity.
Due to some problems related to credit card, one of main premium account of Banca d'Italia SL team, has
been suspended. This account was able to share the main balance of the bank, and holds a variety of lands.
As stated by Banca d'Italia, even in this case Linden Lab seems to be unwilling to respond or respond quickly.
When Banca d'Italia SL recognized that something was wrong with its account, stopped activity from
ATMs and website, moving the remaining L$ to an alternate account. Linden Lab has suspended that account too.
Banca d'Italia confirms that they have no fraudlent intentions, and they are trying to regain possessions
of their avatars, including their lands and Lindens. This will allow Banca d'Italia to at least
reimburse partially its customers, which will be done proportionally to its balance.
